Quote for the
day --
We are thoroughly convinced of the futility, the horror of war and its dreadful
consequences for civilization , and yet we are drifting towards it, overpowered by the
machine which we have built up, as if we were not responsible human beings but mere
victims of forces blind, deep, slow and irrestible, bearing all things away.

Seeing the tremendous response to Infovote8 regarding Pakistan. Today's Infoline
is a Kargil special. Nothing else just views & opinions about Kargil and sites dealing
with the same.
Indian Govt. has been unable to counter Pak propoganda maybe mediums like
Infoline can do better.
INFOVOTE8-- How should India tackle Pakistan??

Please write your name along with your opinions. These would be given preference as
regards carrying them in Infoline.
- I think the current way is OK only problem is that we have to
waste lot of resources and efforts, but there is no other way until our pakistani
counterpart get to know that there are a lot of other way to prove themself rather than
attacking India.
- The infiltrators should be driven out at first with force followed
parallel with a very strong diplomatic effort in condemming this offensive action by PAK.
International pressure has to be generated to to refrain Pak from repeating this act.
--Ashish
- India should also play a double game like pakistan it should not
stop bombbarding and on the other hand talk for peace with pakistan and ask UN to
take neecessary step against pakistan: ---RAMAN TRIVEDI
- Pakistan does not deserve any mercy and should be treated in the
same manner the American retaliated to the Iraqi aggression over Kuwait. It is time we
stop talking of our principles that our forefathers taught us as you cannot preach sermons
to a person
who is adept on talking your scalp. The first censorship should be put on George's big
mouth. He is treating our soldiers the way he treated his union members when he was a
union leader thus demoralising our great valiant soldiers. It is time that Vajpayee
should get in to this controversies created by George and tell the nations that he means
business. He should not bother at all about what other nations say. One has every right to
defend his homeland. We should not let our nation fall into the hands of some
misguided elements who talks of religious freedom in our homeland. Jai Hind.
- I wish people chose to live happily.... we only live once...yet we
make such a mess of it!!

Dear Subscriber,
The Kargil crisis is now gradually taking
serious proportions with both Indian & Pak diplomats competing in making irresponsible
statements day after day. Both nations have a majority of people below the poverty line
and are spending millions every day on totally unproductive activities. Looking at the
stance that both sides are taking there seems to be no easy solution to the crisis, if
any.
Is a piece of land where not even a blade
of grass can survive so important???The political parties have always held the general
public to ransom & are only concerned with making political mileage. Listening to the
recent statements of the oppn parties I wonder if there is any patriotism left in
politics.
India seems to be scared to death about
the Kashmir issue being internationalized while Pakistan's stance that the Kashmiris
should decide their own future appears very democratic & appealing to the rest of the
world.
A view that has always been criticized by
the majority in India is that of accepting the Line Of Control as the international
border. I am very much for this. Is their even an iota of possibility that India can get
back POK? No way.. We had captured huge portions in 1964 & 1971 but gave them back so
why fight for the same now.
